Contest Entry for :iconpharaoh-atemu:

Atemu dressed as Sphinx Pharaoh from "Saint Seiya".

Sphinx is one of the spectres that works for Hades. His weapon is an ancient egyptian harp and is far deadlier than you'd think.

I totally blame my sister, aoi-ryu for this one. She's a big Saint Seiya fan and has all but been beating me over the head with her manga of it.

So I was flipping through the latest one and found a picture of Sphinx in the back, and the first thought that came to mind was: I have to draw Atemu in this. So here we are.


Used a LOT of screen shots and one lone manga pic, all courtesy my sister, for references. @_@ The picture is a big mix of copics, prismacolor and sakura markers, with a healthy dose of prismacolor pencils thrown on top. (I've never used that many different types of black and gray in one picture before!) The background and ground shadow were done in PSPv8. ^_^v


BTW: Aoi-ryu noticed that in Saint Seiya, the knights/marines/spectres who wield instruments are far more dangerous and do more damage than the ones with more conventional weapons.
